1. BIOENERGY TRAIN INTERNSHIP DIARY: ARRIVAL
ELES is a network partner in the BioEnergyTrain project and coordinates the internship of the two PhD candidates. ELES, the Slovenian Transmission System Operator, hosts Andrzej and Sybille for a two week stay and prepared an intense interview and meeting schedule that enables them to observe and evaluate the BioEnergyTrain project and learn more about ELES’ work and the interaction of the European Union energy markets.

2. BIOENERGY TRAIN INTERNSHIP DIARY. GRAZ VISIT
One highlight during Andrzej`s and Sybille`s stay at ELES was the trip to Graz to meet two BioEnergyTrain network partners. The two PhD candidates were able to discuss the concept of interdisciplinary research and the experiences of the network partners with their BioEnergyTrain project with Christian Sakulin of the Energie Agentur Steiermark as well as with Prof. Marlene Kienberger and Prof. Wolfgang Bauer of the Technical University of Graz.
3. BIOENERGY TRAIN INTERNSHIP DIARY:
Our visit to the Fakulteta za elektrotehniko was a “home match”, since the faculty is located next door of the ELES building. Tomi Medved, PhD candidate at the Energy Policy Lab (left on the picture), provided us with interesting insights of the Energy Policy Lab’s involvement in EU projects. The presentation followed a lively discussion about the H2020 project BioEnergyTrain, of which the Laboratory of Energy Policy is a member, and interdisciplinary energy research.
