More than 600,000 households and about 8 million m2 in public and commercial sectors are supplied with heat thanks to this system. Systems are currently almost completely based on fossil fuels (natural gas, heavy fuel oil and coal) and the payment method in households is predominantly based on flat rate (depending on the size of the heated area).<\/p>\n<p>This multi-stakeholder workshop organised by our project partner the BSERC will explore the development of DH systems, taking into consideration technical solutions, social circumstances, environmental and market demands.
