They may also be of interest as teaching resources. Click on the links below to access our:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/annotated-bibliographies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Annotated Bibliographies<\/strong><\/a> on the four SHAPE ENERGY topics: (1) Energy efficiency and using less; (2) Competitive, secure, low-carbon energy supply; (3) Energy system optimisation and smart technologies; and (4) Transport decarbonisation. These extensive bibliographies contain short overviews of a wide number of articles, books and reports from the social science and humanities (SSH), demonstrating the breadth and depth of SSH research already being carried out of relevance to energy topics.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/theme-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Cross-cutting theme reports<\/strong><\/a> on four areas of central importance to the Platform:\u00a0(1) Energy and gender; (2) Energy and multi-stakeholder interests; (3) Energy justice; and (4) Energy and the active consumer.\u00a0These reports provide tangible\u00a0recommendations for how to account for these themes in energy projects, and directly feed into\u00a0future\u00a0SHAPE ENERGY activities.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/shape-energy-lexicon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>SHAPE ENERGY lexicon<\/strong><\/a>: exploring the ways that 20 key energy-related words and phrases are used and interpreted differently by researchers from different areas. This output is based on data from our academic scoping workshop with leading scholars, held in February 2017.<\/li>\n<li>SHAPE ENERGY launched an open\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/call-for-evidence-results\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Call for Evidence<\/b><\/a>\u00a0over April-July 2017 aimed at identifying current understandings of and future priorities for energy research from a wide range of researchers and other stakeholders including those from policy, industry, NGOs and beyond. Questions included a focus on the use of energy-related Social Science and Humanities in energy policy. Click here for the published set of evidence and reflections on the results which will feed into the SHAPE ENERGY Research and Innovation Agenda 2020-2030 and other upcoming SHAPE ENERGY activities.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/academic-workshop\/\">Academic workshop report<\/a>: \u00a0<\/strong>this scoping workshop on 24<sup>th<\/sup>February 2017 brought together high profile scholars (including journal editors, network chairs, and PIs of European energy projects) to discuss the foundations of a European strategic research agenda for SSH in the energy field. It represented a key opportunity to engage a cross-section of the academic community in-depth, in order to: reflect on the current state (and possible future) of energy-SSH research; consider how best to strengthen dialogue among European energy-\u00a0-research stakeholders; and how to best provide policy-related advice to European policymakers. Contributions for the <a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/shape-energy-lexicon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SHAPE ENERGY lexicon<\/a>\u00a0were collected at the event.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/storytelling\/\">Storytelling facilitation guidelines<\/a>: <\/strong>the SHAPE ENERGY Platform aims to involve a large number of stakeholders in a wide variety of activities between 2017 and 2019. Interdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder working is integral to these activities, and using innovative methods proven to enable collaboration and mutual understanding is a central pillar of the Platform. One of these innovative methods is storytelling. This practical report details the guidelines for facilitators of the SHAPE ENERGY multi-stakeholder workshops and sandpits, but is also designed to enable wider use by others aiming to facilitate interdisciplinary and\/or multi-stakeholder collaboration.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/summer-school-report\/\"><strong>ESR summer school key findings<\/strong><\/a>: the pluridisciplinary summer school for ESRs working within Social Science and Humanities (SSH) energy research was focused on how SSH research can contribute to tackle the many energy-related challenges in Europe. Key energy topics have been discussed with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity and on the translation of academic research into policy and practice. <a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/SHAPE_ENERGY_Summer_School.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Summer School <\/a>has been an opportunity to collaborate with other PhD students from a range of disciplines, and to meet advanced researchers and practitioners involved in leading European energy projects.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/interim-plan-dissemination-explotation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Plan for dissemination &amp; exploitation:<\/a><\/strong> This document states the communications objectives and targets at the midway point of the project (end of year 1).\u00a0By taking stock of the achieved successes and lessons learned in 2017, it provides a comprehensive communication, dissemination and exploitation plan for the final year of the project.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/esr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>ESR internships feedback review<\/strong><\/a>:\u00a0In this report, the process of selection of the ESRs and the host H2020 energy-related projects is presented, key findings that came out of the ESRs \u2018internship diaries\u2019, as well as ways the Platform worked with the ESRs to communicate their experiences.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/SHAPE-ENERGY_D3.5_Research-design-challenge-collection-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Research design challenge collection<\/a>: <\/strong>The Research Design Challenge set out to showcase how different Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) disciplines approach three scientific energy problems, namely<a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/SHAPE-ENERGY_D3.5_Research-design-challenge-collection-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0control, change, and capacity-building in energy systems<\/a>. This design challenge is an attempt to foster interdisciplinary collaboration in the energy-SSH community throughout Europe.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/think-piece-collection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Think piece collection<\/strong><\/a>:\u00a0This collection of 10 pieces, together with 3 forewords, an introduction, and 2 afterwords, advocates for the Social Sciences and Humanities to be more involved in energy policymaking.\u00a0All of its contributions are highly interdisciplinary, with each chapter grounded in at least three different Social Sciences and Humanities disciplines. It has been published by\u00a0<strong>Palgrave Macmillan\u00a0<\/strong>as an <a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/2018_Book_AdvancingEnergyPolicy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">open access book<\/a> under the title\u00a0&#8216;Advancing Energy Policy: Lessons on the integration of Social Sciences and Humanities&#8217;.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/workshop-key-findings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Workshops key findings<\/strong><\/a>: SHAPE ENERGY workshops aimed to explore the role of the Social Sciences &amp; Humanities (SSH) in meeting local or regional energy challenges. The materials coming out of the workshops can now be used in diverse ways by city administrations, those working in all aspects of energy, as well as SSH researchers.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/sandpit-key-findings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Sandpits key findings<\/strong><\/a>: The Horizon 2020 Sandpits were dedicated to the issue of integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) in EU-funded energy projects. This report gathers understandings on what can bring together academics and practitioners involved in energy related EU-funded projects aiming at reaching a higher integration of SSH.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/shape-energy-evaluation-report\/\">Evaluation report<\/a><\/strong>:\u00a0This report aims to summarise the results of SHAPE ENERGY project activity evaluations.\u00a0In addition to the summary of participant evaluations, suggestions for other Horizon 2020 Platforms as well as for future activity evaluations are provided here.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/long-term-stability-beyond-core-funding\/\"><strong>Business plan and cost benefit matrix<\/strong><\/a>:\u00a0The main aim of this report is to develop a business plan for how the SHAPE ENERGY Platform could be sustained post-project. Moreover, a cost-benefit matrix is developed to be used by other stakeholders seeking to replicate individual Platform activities post-project.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/interdisciplinarity-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Interdisciplinarity report<\/strong>:<\/a>\u00a0A literature review and practical guide to collaborative research strategies in energy and sustainability related SSH. What type of integration would be useful\/feasible\u00a0to address complex energy related issues, why and how? In this report we seek to find an answer to this question.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/shape-energy-final-conference-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SHAPE ENERGY Final conference report:\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>This event was organised as part of the SHAPE ENERGY H2020 EU-funded project. It aims at generating new knowledge, support evidence-based policymaking, produce interdisciplinary solutions and develop Europe\u2019s expertise in using and applying available research into the energy transition decision-making process. See the full report of this final conference.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/reflexive-review-of-interdisciplinary-working\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>SHAPE ENERGY Reflexive Review of Interdisciplinary Working<\/strong> <\/a>presents the outcomes with regard to three overarching methodologies applied in SHAPE ENERGY: (i) an academic literature review; (ii) a set of ethnographic observations of interdisciplinary interactions, and (iii) the method of \u2018reference problems\u2019 which brings together scholars around commonly shared scientific problems.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shapeenergy.eu\/index.php\/publications\/final-dissemination-exploitation-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Final dissemination &amp; exploitation report<\/strong>:<\/a> outlines a number of key achievements of the project in the sphere of communications, dissemination and exploitation, and our approach to linking to the external EU and energy agenda.
